So just like the Fall,

Well... It's been awhile. I've been way to busy to write anything on here for awhile. A lot has happened. I got married, went to Hawaii on my honeymoon, went to CA for an open house, visited Yosemite, went camping, stayed in a covered wagon, went canyoneering, set up house, the list goes on and on. I've been able to do the most exciting things with my best friend! I always thought I would stay single and develop a good life and career until Brian came along. Now things have changed dramatically and I couldn't be happier. He's filled me and my life full of joy and I thank him for making my dreams come true.
"Maybe all young men who love us become Knights in shining armor when we love them back."

It all started out as a regular Monday. School, homework, the usual. But tonight ended up being a very special night...
Nothing was out of the norm as me and Brian started hiking up the trail in the snow with freezing temperatures. Trying not to slip and fall, Brian wanted to take a certain trail so we went up the left fork until we came to a bridge. Now, it was dark and there on the bridge was someone's backpack and other items. Brian went to see what it was and I told him to not touch it (twice) because it wasn't ours, but he went for it anyways. He crouched down and picked up something and handed it to me. IT being red roses. I was a little confused as I stood there with the roses in my hand until he turned on I Cross My Heart by George Strait. This was it. We had talked about it and had even set a date to go ring shopping, but this?! I hadn't even suspected this would happen without the ring.
As the music was playing in the background Brian got down on one knee (in the snow) and said, "I love you forever. I want want you for my wife. Will you marry me?" My heart was beating out of my chest and tears were starting to form in my eyes. He then said it wouldn't be complete without a ring and pulled out a ginormous, fake diamond ring the size of a quarter and placed in on my finger. I, of course, said yes (still a little dumb struck) and kissed my fiancee! He then went to the backpack and pulled out a thermos of hot cocoa and a blanket. We sat there wrapped in a blanket, sipping hot cocoa under the moon and stars while over looking the valley and the temple.
Other than celebrating with strawberry daquiri's and bacon, almost giving my grandmother a heart attack after seeing my ring, or even my best friends dad running up the stairs with a shot gun, the rest of the night was uneventful while Brian was on the phone and we were out sharing our joyful news with everyone. Soon we will be Brian and Codi Grimsman... I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us.
I cross my heart
And promise to
